Vacancy for a Parish Councillor. If you are interested in applying, please send a brief paragraph about yourself to the Clerk explaining why you are interested in joining the parish council. The closing date for applications is 27th November. The parish council will consider applications at its meeting on the 4th December.
Notice is given of the conclusion of the audit of the parish council accounts for 2016-17. A copyof the Annual Return can be found on the webstie under "financial documents". Any local elector wishing to inspect the accounts can arrange to do so throuh the Clerk.
The period for the exercise of public rights re: the accounts of Aspley Guise PC for the year ending March 2017 runs from 26th June to the 4th August 2017. For more information click here.
The Hayfield Consortum are having a public consultation from the 8th May - 9th June 2017 on their proposals to build a new village for Central Bedfordshire to the north of Aspley Guise.
Consultation events are:
Wednesday 17th May 3.30pm - 7pm in the Memorial Hall, Woburn Sands
Saturday 20th May 11am-3pm in the Village Hall, Aspley Guise.
You will also have a chance to see display materials at the Annual Parish Meeting of Aspley Guise on Thursday 18th May 7pm in the Village Hall, Aspley Guise.

CBC Local Plan.
As part of the process of developing the Local Plan, CBC are encouraging local residents to actively engage and comment. There will be a series of community events with the one relevant to our area on the 8th December (2.30pm - 7.30pm) at Woburn Village Hall, Crawley Road.
7th November 2016 at 7.45pm in Aspley Guise Village Hall to hear about proposed plans for the old allotment site in Gypsy Lane. Presented by Paul Hughes (landowner) and Adrian Stevenson of RDC Ltd.
Local Council Award Scheme:
Aspley Guise Parish Council have been awarded Foundation Status under the new scheme which replaces the Quality Scheme. More information here
Application for Designation of a Neighbourhood Area
Aspley Guise Parish Council has decided to undertake a Neighbourhood Development Plan "NDP". As a first step, the Parish Council must get an area designated as being covered by the NDP. This process is undertaken via Central Bedfordshire Council.

Milton Keynes Local Plan "Plan:MK"
On the 13th January, Milton Keynes Council start a 12 week public consultation on the Strategic Development Options for Plan:MK. As part of this they will be holding a
Public Meeting, 18th February 2016 in Aspley Guise Village Hall 7-9pm
