Info from CBC:

It’s been a while since we last updated you on progress with the A421 and I am pleased to report that over 80% of the westboundcarriageway is now complete.

Since January work started on the Cranfield Road bridge North abutment to allow for the construction of the new bridge foundation along with preparation for the traffic switch, which will open the new westbound carriageway to live traffic and allow works to commence to the eastbound carriageway.

As you would expect with a project of this scale and work running through the winter period we factored in some contingency time for in anticipation of winter weather impacting on the work. As you will be well aware this winter has been extremely wet and due to this and the recent storms, this has had an impact on the completion date of the Cranfield Road bridge. We will continue to work hard to minimise but the current plan is to open Cranfield Road bridge by the end of July.
