We did it! The Christmas lights came on in the Village Square last night! Two of our newest, young residents of The Square performed the grand switch on at 5pm.
Despite the chill, we believe around 100 braved the cold and created a rousing countdown from 10 much to the delight of everyone.
A huge thank you to all who came along, all the residents who very kindly light up their homes for the festive period, The Anchor for bringing out the mulled wine and mince pies and of course, everyone who helped organised the tree, check the lights, put the tree up, clambered over the bus shelther to get the lights installed, built the star for the top of the tree, emptied the bins, swept the cobbles …..the list goes on. There are a lot of people to thank. It is great to see the village and the parish come together.
Happy Christmas everyone!
