Aspley Guise Parish Council invite you to take part in the Great British September Clean over the weekend of the 19th to 20th September 2020.
Unfortunately, due to COVID19 this cannot be a group event, but we are asking that if you can spare an hour over this weekend, that you take part in family groups only and help clean up our village.
Please leave your filled litter bags tied up by the side of the Village Hall no later than 5pm on the 20th for collection. THANK YOU for your help.
Please follow the safety points below:
- During your litter picking wear heavy duty gloves at all times
- Take antibacterial gel with you and use it if needed
- Do not touch your face whilst litter picking and ensure you wash your hands thoroughly once finished.
- Maintain social distancing from other people around you.
- If possible, wear a high viz jacket, especially if working near a road.
- Do NOT let children take part without adult supervision.
Dangerous items:
If you come across any dangerous items such as those listed below DO NOT attempt to move them yourself. Instead please alert the PC by emailing richard.davis@aspleyguiseparishcouncil.gov.uk:
- Syringes
- Broken Glass
- Condoms
- Unidentified cans or canisters, oil drums
- Poisons or insecticides
- Clinical waste or other hazardous substances
Hazardous Surfaces:
Please be mindful of hazardous surfaces such as steep, slippery or unstable banks, sharp rocks, mud holes, derelict buildings, busy roads, electric fences etc.
Heavy Objects:
Volunteers are asked not to lift large or heavy items. If such an item is identified, please inform the PC by emailing richard.davis@aspleyguiseparishcouncil.gov.uk
